 Our Company Values

Love of the craft

Highline Partners holds a collective sense of inspiration and excitement around every build. As individuals and a team, we love opportunities to create something remarkable. We invest in our people, supporting their ongoing education and professional development as they deepen their expertise. Our collective of specialists work collaboratively, taking pride in how the wood meets the stone, and the metalwork of a staircase creates structural and aesthetic beauty.

Ethos of sustainability

From the beginning, we have embraced sustainability in our approach to construction. The first project we completed was a LEED Certified Platinum home in Big Sky, and we blazed the trail for integrating geothermal and solar into local building projects. We help our clients utilize sustainable materials, alternative energy sources, and construction methods, while never sacrificing their vision for a mountain dream home. In the long run, we believe energy-efficient and sustainable construction is a smart investment, benefiting both homeowners and the environment we all share.

Commitment to community

Giving back is a vital piece of what we do. Highline is committed to community stewardship of all kinds — from supporting our employees and helping them thrive, to providing financial support to organizations and causes that make a difference in our community.

Highline Partners chooses to invest minimally in traditional marketing, an ethos which allows us to maximize our capacity for financial stewardship. We regularly give back to organizations and causes that inspire us with their influence work.

Experiencing what’s real

Big Sky Country is home. Something about Montana makes us come alive. And we don’t just feel the call to adventure — we live it. The thrill and contentment which comes from living, working, and playing in these wild landscapes make us who we are. They inform our values, and our vision for the future we’re creating. And we want to share all of that with our clients, who appreciate Montana as much as we do.

An effective approach that creates high-value results while supporting our clients from vision to completion and beyond.

Our primary goal is to construct a high-quality home that is within budget goals and completed on schedule, with an enjoyable client experience throughout the project.

We approach each project individually. All of our projects are directly managed by the Principals and project management teams, from pre-construction through move-in. Prior to ground breaking, design and constructability discussions with open communication between the design team and general contractor establish clarity and a collective level of expectation and responsibility. The established relationships we’ve built with premier regional subcontractors and suppliers allows us to procure superior products and services, providing value to every project. As the build commences, we use every opportunity we can to minimize waste through precise material takeoffs and the recycling of leftover materials.

Our Process

Like mountain guides, we support our clients in their ambitions and walk alongside them throughout the journey. From the approach to the summit, and all the way home, we navigate the unpredictable elements of every adventure with confidence, enthusiasm, and expertise.

Phase 01

Pre-Construction

In the early stages of a project, we equip owners with the information they need to make the right decisions that will have the greatest impact on the outcome of the project. We work with architects and design professionals as collaborative partners to address budget, systems cost, materials, and scheduling during the initial stages of design. This collaboration improves performance, design, constructability, and cost efficiency across the entire design process. Our construction team is involved in the planning process, to guarantee a seamless transition into the construction phase.

Phase 01: Pre-Construction Services

  • initial consultation and land review

  • site-specific land review, logistics planning, and testing

  • budget development (price per square foot)

  • market-tested cost estimation

  • development and management scheduling

  • sustainability analysis for alternative energy

Phase 02

Design-Build

We facilitate a streamlined design-build process by supplying material mockups, samples, and creative ideas throughout the full spectrum of construction. We work to minimize costs while maximizing both the client experience and the end results. When valuable, we will employ change orders to accommodate our clients’ needs and the ever-evolving demands of the project. Design-build is collaboration with a purpose, in order to achieve the remarkable.

Phase 02: Design + Build Services

  • architectural and engineering coordination

  • material and subcontractor management

  • permitting and approvals

  • creative interior design development

  • sustainability measures

Phase 03

Construction

Our teams are made up of skilled in-house craftsmen and trusted regional subcontractors. As the General Contractor, we apply our expertise to oversee and facilitate project costs, schedules, and market trends to ensure that the project is executed within budget guidelines and design parameters.

We work with architects, interior designers, owners, and suppliers to facilitate material selection. Since all of our work is custom, lead times on materials must be continually managed. Our team of experienced Project Managers and Site Superintendents ensure that materials arrive when planned and minimize the impact supply schedules have on project timelines. The daily site management of all subcontractors and Highline personnel keeps projects moving efficiently.

Phase 03: Construction Services

  • material selection

  • project management and supervision

  • material management

  • construction waste management and recycling

  • cost control and budget analysis

  • procore project software

Phase 04

Post-Construction

When the home is complete, we digitally archive all information (appliances, fittings, fixtures, interior and exterior finishes, etc.) so that our clients have all of the specifications needed to maintain the home.

A warranty phase is established for every project. Throughout that phase, we are dedicated to working with the property managers and clients to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and answers they need to manage the finished home with confidence.

Phase 04: Post-Construction Services

  • digital archive

  • warranty phase

  • project manager orientation

  • property management education
